My Top Five Adventures of 2025

2025 was a year of personal goals and self discovery. I ran in a bucketlist race, I completed my first marathon, and I hiked a trail I had always dreamed of doing. Check out my top five adventures (in no particular order) from last year.

#1 Visiting Mexico City

I went to Mexico City the week before Día de Muertos. Marigolds lined the streets of the city in preparation of the holiday. The food was AMAZING, and there was a pastelería on every corner. Safe to say I got my fair share of pastries.

#2 Hiking Tunnel Falls

Tunnel Falls was one of those hikes I’d come across on Pinterest when I lived on the East Coast, and it always made me want to visit Oregon. This is part of the Eagle Creek area that was affected by the wildfire in 2017, so the ecosystem is still fragile. This hike was everything I’d hoped it would be!

#3 Hood to Coast

I completed my fourth Hood to Coast in 2025, and this year’s race way by far the hottest. During my first leg, the temperature was in triple digits! The team camaraderie is what keeps bringing me back to this race year after year.

#4 Completing My First Marathon

After completing my first 5k back in 2015 I sent a goal for myself to work my way up from a 5k to a full marathon. I finally made that happen when I completed the Every Woman’s Marathon in Scottsdale, AZ, This was definitely a challenge, but I’m so glad I pushed my way through. I can now say I’m in the less than 1% of the population who has completed a marathon.

#5 Nike After Dark Tour Los Angeles

There was a previous iteration of this race back when I first started my running journey that had come to a halt. I promised myself that if it ever came back I would participate. Lo and behold it was announced that the race series would be returning in 2025 with one stop in the US. The half marathon was a lot hillier than I expected but I had a great time and crossed a bucket list race off of my list. (And my family got to visit LA for the first time!)

As you can tell 2025 was very running-centric for me. My goal this year is to hit the trails a lot more and make my way to some National Parks. Got any suggestions on where I should hike? Feel free to drop them in the comments.

Thanks for checking out my top five adventures of 2025, and stay tuned for what’s to come in 2026!
