Yellow Backpack Adventures

With all the craziness of moving, I haven’t been able to post as much as I want. Now that I have finally relocated and I’m starting to settle in, I’m looking forward to adventuring out in this new area. This time of transition has given me time to reflect on how my journey started. In one of my previous blog posts I shared how I came into hiking, but I also wanted to share the history behind Yellow Backpack Adventures.

When I was gearing up for my new found hobby, one of the first pieces of equipment I needed was a backpack. I’m definitely the type of person who likes to be prepared, so I wanted a backpack that was lightweight but could hold all of my hiking needs (first aid kit, water, snacks etc.).

Because I was a newbie at the time I wasn’t aware of places like REI that have experts to help with selecting equipment, so to Amazon I went. I found a decently priced backpack that had the sections I was looking for and was also packable so I could store it when not in use. Now that I had identified a viable option, the last thing to decide on was color choice!!

There were over 10 different color options available for this backpack. My train of thought immediately took me to the brighter colors in order to stand out against the backdrop of nature. I finally narrowed it down to yellow and orange. Let me fill you in on a secret…there was no rhyme or reason behind my final choice. I just selected yellow.

Once I started hiking more I decided that I wanted to create a social media presence to document my travels. When thinking of a name I couldn’t come up with anything catchy, so I stuck to the basics. How much more basic can you get than Yellow Backpack Adventures?
